Why should I buy my shed from Amish Mike as opposed to another dealer?
There are many reasons to buy your shed from Amish Mike. For starters, we’ve been in business for over 35 years; and the same family that sold your parents a shed a generation ago is the same family that you will be buying a shed from today. Plus, we have upwards of 200 sheds on site for you to see, and we are open 7 days a week. Therefore, you can walk in anytime, pick the shed you want, and have it delivered within days. Better yet, you can sit down with one of our experienced and knowledgeable shed experts and design your very own customized shed.
Do I need a permit?
Amish Mike highly encourages you to contact your local township and inquire with them directly. Permit requirements vary greatly from town-to-town, especially if you are purchasing one of our larger buildings; so, be safe, and check with your town. Amish Mike is not responsible for permits.
How do you deliver your sheds?
Most buildings come fully assembled and delivered directly to your prepared site. Amish Mike offers several delivery methods. For most deliveries, we use our shed truck and trailer system. We also offer the new mule delivery system that allows our driver to get into most places other dealers can’t. If no access is available, Amish Mike can build your shed on site.
Is there an additional cost for sheds built on site?
Yes. The cost for building a shed on site is based on a several factors, including the size of the building and the siding material selected. Vinyl sheds cost more to build than a building with T-1-11 siding because the carpenter has to side the building after it is erected. Also, dormers and garage doors add to the construction cost. Some buildings are too tall with the roof assembled; therefore, the roof needs to be erected on-site, also for an additional cost.
How long does the order process take?
If you purchase a shed from the lot, we can deliver the shed to your backyard within days, as long as the site is properly prepared. However, if you choose to personally design your own, unique shed, as so many of our customers prefer to do, the waiting period is typically 3 to 5 weeks, depending on the time of year that you place your order.
Does Amish Mike do site checks?
Yes, once we have received your order with a deposit, Amish Mike will check your property upon customer request. This service is offered within a 30-mile radius of our store. Site checks are performed to ensure that we can get your shed safely onto your property where you want it placed. If it is determined that the shed cannot be delivered assembled, we will offer to have it built on-site for an additional fee.
What kind of warranty do I get?
All Amish Mike structures come with a warranty. Our Premium Quality and New England style sheds come with our standard 10-year warranty. Amish Mike also provides extended warranties on individual items, such as a 30-year warranty on architectural shingles.
Do I need to visit the store to order my shed?
Amish Mike recommends that you visit the store before ordering your shed. We always have upwards of 100 sheds on the property for you to see and compare. Visiting the store provides you the best opportunity to see the true color of the sheds instead of a ¼-inch thumbnail on the website; and you have the opportunity to step inside the sheds to see the quality construction. In addition, you will get a true feel for the size of the shed you are interested in purchasing. You will also get to see many different features and options available on or in the sheds, such as the different trim, shutters, vents, and flowerbox options.
