Summer is right around the corner, and if you haven’t already started your planting, weeding, and mowing, you’ll likely start within the next few weeks. Custom sheds provide the storage that many homeowners need, especially during the winter months. The problem is that once spring and summer arrive, you may be faced with a totally overflowing garden shed! To make sure your outdoor storage facilities are ready for the summer season, you’ll want to follow our easy checklist.
- Organize Your Shelves
Your shelves probably need some attention after a long winter. First, move all fall and winter tools and decorations to the back or away from the easiest-to-access areas. Remove any expired or broken supplies and dust off your shelves thoroughly. This will allow you to take stock of supplies you need or tools you need to replace.
- Ready Your Tools
It’s likely that you store garden tools and all kinds of yard equipment here, but you probably moved them to the back during the winter. Bring everything you need for your garden and lawn to the front of the unit. If you didn’t clean them thoroughly enough before storing them last year, now’s the time to take care of that. You’ll also want to give them a good once-over to ensure they’re in working order.
- Check For Damage
Amish wooden sheds should last at least 15 to 20 years, but it’s still important to inspect your unit for any damage. If you had a particularly harsh winter, it’s possible that some areas may need a touch-up. You should also check carefully for any signs of pests like rodents or stinging insects. If you notice droppings, holes, or nests, you’ll want to take care of this problem right away.
- Sweep and Mop
You should always give the interior and exterior a thorough cleaning, too. Pay extra attention to floors, windows, and signs of wear around the foundation. Not only will you be more likely to use a clean space, but it will deter critters from making it into their summer home. Finally, don’t forget to make the outside look just as nice as the inside!
Don’t settle for a boring or cluttered green space this spring and summer.
